EMERGENCY TRAVEL CERTIFICATE

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ISSUANCE OF EMERGENCY TRAVEL CERTIFICATES (ETC)

1. A Police report and an AFFIDAVIT indicating…. indicating loss of passport, in instances where the passport is missing/stolen.
2. A copy of the bio-data page of the passport, in instances where the passport is expired.
3. A valid travel ticket
4. Two passport-sized photos
5. Processing Fee (20.00 USD)

FORM OF PAYMENT

• Payment for all services provided by the Embassy should either be by Deposit at Bank or through Bank Transfer and the Receipt submitted together with a copy of application form via email or at the Embassy for interview date.
• The Embassy would not accept any other form of payment

2. Open the form with Adobe Reader
3. Print and fill the form. After that
4. Send the form to Consular Office through DHL 

DOCUMENTS AUTHENTICATION

• Authentication of documents emanating from Ghana e.g. for Marriage, Education, Birth and  Divorce Certificates, Drivers License etc. must be endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration in Ghana, before they are brought to the Ghana Embassy in Harare for authentication. Original documents must be presented before copies can be endorsed.

• In the case of documents being sent to Ghana from Harare, applicants are required to have their documents endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Trade of the Republic of Zimbabwe before they are brought to the Ghana Embassy for legalization.

• A fee of 20.00 USD is charged for Authentication/Legalization

• Payment for Passports, Travel Certificates and other consular services should be made to the Ghana Embassy Account below.

DUAL CITIZENSHIP

REQUIREMENTS FOR DUAL CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION

The Citizenship Act (Act 591 of 2000) state amongs others that, “A citizen of Ghana who acquires the citizenship of another country in addition to his Ghanaian citizenship shall notify in writing the acquisition of the additional citizenship to the Minister (Interior) in such form and in such manner as may be prescribed.”
The application for registration as a dual citizen is made on Form 13 (Application for Registration as a Dual Citizen).

The following items are to accompany the application form:

1. Evidence of Ghanaian Nationality (i.e. Birth Certificate/Passport).
2. Evidence of Parents’ Nationality (Passport, Voters ID Card, Birth Certificate).
3. For persons who have renounced their Ghanaian citizenship provide evidence of parents’ nationality.
4. Six (6) passport-sized photographs.
